Brown Rice Varieties

Dinorado – Red Filipino variety; slightly aromatic, chewy texture.  Excellent for fried rice, stuffing/dressing and with mushrooms.

Jupiter –  Medium grain, chewy, hearty, great as fried rice or with stir fries.

Koshihikari – Premium Sushi rice, medium grain, chewy.  Also a favorite for buddha bowls and with stir fries.

LaGrue – Long grain, tender, Louisiana native, buttery undertones in flavor.   Excellent for under stews and sauces. 

Sahbhagi – East Indian, medium grain, earthy undertones.  Great with curries & dahl. 

Sierra – Long Grain, tender, aromatic basmati-like variety; wonderful for biryani.

Brown Rice Grits –  Heavenly with coconut oil, delicious sweet or savory; can also be used for polenta – Temporarily unavailable.

Broken Rice –  Traditionally used as a delicacy in Southeast Asian cooking, tender & succulent.  Easily absorbs flavor.  Also great as a hot morning cereal.
